The Sixth Session
Model United Nations Monterrey
November 20, 21, and 22, 2026
Letter for Participants
Esteemed delegates and faculty advisors,
It is my honor to welcome you all to the sixth session of Model United Nations Monterrey—the largest independent and most prestigious Model UN conference in northern Mexico.
My name is Ivan Martinez, a graduate from international relations and affairs and currently studying a master degree in Applied Economics serving as the founder of the program. I have been a part of Model UN since middle school, having competed all four stages of MUN, from being a delegate, chair, advisor to then become a founder of a program full of passionate leaders here.. at munmty, This activity has been a source of personal growth—it strengthens delegates’ skills that they would not normally learn in the classroom: the ability to speak publicly, debate, and collaborate with one another.
Our conference gathers more than 400 students and thousands of high school students from over sixty countries around the world in the city of Boston every year—it has never failed to amaze me to see how prepared delegates are when they show up to conference and see their performance as the conference goes on. I hope that delegates are able to craft creative solutions to the pressing issues and challenges that the world faces through our committees.
As the countdown begins until the start of HMUN 2026, I am excited to unveil the hard work that my Secretariat has done to make the seventy-third session of Harvard Model United Nations a reality—from improving our conference administration to continuing our substantive excellence.
If you have any questions in the meantime regarding our conference, we encourage you to first look through the other pages on this website and email our administration team at info@harvardmun.org with any inquiries that you may have. I look forward to seeing you all in January.
